Kingdom of Urado is one of the fictional countries in Shoukoku no Altair universe. It's most likely based on real-life Wallachia (one of Romania's principalities) and Hungary.
It's located at the northern-east part of Rumeliana region. It shares a border with two countries: Baltrhein Empire at the West and Turkiye Stratocracy at the South. Almost all parts of Urado is covered with heavy snow marking the land temporary not habitable for farming.
Zsigmond III king of Urado had mentioned that people of Urado is descended from Ancient Phoenicia. Approximately 400 years ago, they fled to the North when the horsemen tribes invaded their territory, opposed to fellow Phoenician descendant Venete people (Venedik citizens' predecessor), who fled to the South.
It's not yet stated about Urado's full regional administration, but it's known that people with the same occupation usually gather in one place, creating a village. Thus, every village has different main occupations.
Due to its isolation policy, Urado is known for its especially strict immigration procedures.
With iron veins all over its land, Urado is able to make its own military equipment for 400 years since its founding without trading with another countries, while at the same time breed enough horses (even if not abundant) for military purposes due to its possession of broad lands required for horse farming. These, combined with another natural and cultural factors cultivated a military style that combined both Ancient Phoenician's lance regime and horsemen tribes' horse-based military, suitable for its mainly defensive purposes; the cavalry came to known as Urado Lancer Regiment.
- The Kingdom of Urado may have historical inspirations from Wallachia or Bulgaria.
